Cut two different colored rectangles—for instance, mustard yellow and charcoal gray—and join them horizontally using an overlapping topstitch or zigzag stitch to create a single front panel. Pair it with a solid back panel, stitch the perimeter with a decorative blanket stitch, and finish the opening with a concealed zipper or magnetic snap.
