8. Wire-Wrapped Rock Photo Holders

Combine natural river stones with flexible craft wire to create minimalist desk stands for polaroids, notes, and recipe cards.

  • Technique: Choose a heavy, stable rock with a flat bottom. Paint the rock with abstract geometric color blocks or leave its natural stone grain exposed. Take an 18-gauge craft wire in brass, copper, or silver. Wrap the bottom end tightly around the stone three to four times to anchor it securely. Extend the wire vertically 4 to 6 inches, then coil the top into a double-loop spiral to slide photos between.
  • Best Use: Wedding place card holders, desktop photo displays, or tabletop memo stands.
