4. Story Stones for Imaginative Play
Story stones are visual storytelling prompts designed to inspire creative writing, classroom games, and imaginative play for children and adults alike.
- Technique: Select 10 to 20 small, smooth pebbles. Paint simple, identifiable iconography on each stone: a rocket ship, castle, campfire, crescent moon, dragon, key, bicycle, or treasure chest. Keep the illustrations bold and expressive with solid background colors.
- Best Use: Place the stones inside a drawstring canvas bag. Players draw three stones at random and improvise a narrative connecting the three drawn symbols.
